Self clean ovens . . BBQ grills?
I have a nice self clean oven, works great. My BBQ grill is sort of grimy. Can I or may I place the grill in the oven, put it on the self clean cycle and VOILA, nice shiny BBQ grills? Interesting thought. Suggestions or thought appreciated, but please no comments about my lack of "elbow grease" My shoulder joints are so damaged that scrubbing the grill is not practical. Thanks

hey know what you mean,
yes put it in the oven
you should try that Easy Off cleaner. i just bought it the other day and i used it on my oven and grill and it works like a charm. all you have to do is spray, wait and then wipe right off. no elbow grease needed.
I have done it and it worked fine. Not the whole device, mind you, but the grill, the cooking surface.
It may work, but be aware that the intense heat inside the chamber during the self cleaning mode (approximately 500C/900F) might discolor and distort your BBQ grill. See: http://www.oven-cleaning-guide.com/self-cleaning-oven
The best cleaning option is to spray a strong oven cleaner over the grill while it is still hot OUTDOOR and then use a wire brush.
Be careful and protect your eyes and hands!
